As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowHillenbrand Industries Inc. reported today that profit in its fiscal fourth quarter fell on an adjusted basis to 82 cents per share from $1.12 per share a year earlier.
The setback in the period ended Sept. 30 resulted from troubles in its Acute Care and Batesville Casket businesses in North America as well as investments in a strategic plan, the Batesville-based maker of hospital beds and caskets said.
Profit from continuing operations fell 29.4 percent, to $48.1 million.
For the fiscal year, earnings per share fell to $3.07 from $3.60 the prior year.
