Selective Insurance Co. of America, a property and casualty insurer headquartered in Branchville, N.J., will open a Midwest regional office at 11711 N. Meridian St. in Carmel.
The office will employ 40, Indiana Economic Development Corp. said today. The company received no state incentives.
Specializing in commercial, personal, bond and flood coverage, Selective Insurance is one of seven insurance companies owned by publicly traded Selective Insurance Group Inc., also of Branchville.
A.M. Best ranks Selective Insurance Co. as the No. 46 property and casualty insurer. It has 2,100 workers in the Midwest and East Coast.
