Check printer to expand in Jeffersonville

Texas-based Harland Clarke Corp. plans to relocate its Decatur, Ga., operations to its location in Jeffersonville, investing at least $1.5 million and adding 50 workers by 2010.

Harland Clarke prints checks, deposit slips and other products for financial institutions. The company already employs about 200 in Jeffersonville.

The first jobs to be added this year will be digital printing specialists, maintenance technicians, binders and supervisors.

The state provided the company with $185,000 in tax credits. The southern Indiana city will provide the company a tax abatement.
