As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowCook Pharmica said today it will spend $80 million to expand its contract drug manufacturing operation to include formulation, filling and finishing.
The project will create 200 jobs, said the company, a division of Bloomington medical device giant Cook Medical.
Cook Pharmica currently develops and manufactures cell culture-based products. The expansion will have two lines for filling syringes and their associated finishing lines.
The expansion is expected to be complete by 2010.
The jobs are expected to pay an average wage of $21 an hour.
