Angola firm selling radio stations for $3.8M

Lake Cities Broadcasting Corp. in the northeastern Indiana city of Angola is selling its five radio stations, according to The Journal Gazette of Fort Wayne.

Buying the stations for $3.8 million is Swick Broadcasting Corp. Lake Cities President Tom Andrews is retiring, but plans to offer engineering help on a part-time basis.

The stations include WLKI-FM 100.3 in Angola; WTHD-FM 105.5, a country station in LaGrange; and WLZZ-FM 104.5, a country station in Montpelier, Ohio.

Two stations in Sturgis, Mich., also were included in the sale: WMSH-FM 99.3, which has an oldies format; and WMSH-AM 1230, an ESPN sports station.

The sale price does not include land, which was a separate transaction.

The radio deal must be approved by the Federal Communications Commission.
