Boston Scientific workers roiled in Spencer

April 23, 2008
Workers at Boston Scientific Corp.'s plant in the southern Indiana town of Spencer fear departments that manufacture catheters and stents might be moved to Costa Rica, but the Massachusetts company wouldn't comment.

Most workers leaving the plant yesterday wouldn't discuss the changes with The Herald-Times of Bloomington, but some whose names weren't disclosed said the lines will leave Spencer.

However, other workers told the newspaper that additional duties might be added to the plant, resulting in a net increase in jobs.

A Boston Scientific official said the company remains "strongly committed" to the plant.
