Printing Partners Inc., one of the larger commercial printers in the Indianapolis area, has acquired Budget Direct Mail for a price the printing firm describes as greater than $500,000.

The printing firm will use the direct mail acquisition to vertically integrate direct mail campaigns. The company now will be able to develop, produce and implement promotional campaigns for Budget Direct Mail’s clients, many of which are auto dealers, said Printing Partners co-owner Michael O’Brien. The company will also market its services to other clients in other industries.

O’Brien owns the company with his brother, Joel O’Brien.

Printing Partners, based at 929 W. 16th St., will absorb the nine employees of Budget Direct at 5342 Elmwood Drive.

Printing Partners ranked 9th among local commercial printers in IBJ’s most recent Book of Lists based on its $12.3 million in printing sales in 2006.

The company has 150 employees, O’Brien said.
