Jack Swarbrick, a Baker & Daniels attorney and key figure in Indianapolis professional and amateur sports, is Notre Dame’s first choice to replace Kevin White as athletic director, the Chicago Tribune reported today.

Citing an unidentified source, the newspaper said the deal isn’t finished but that an announcement of a new athletic director could come this week.

A Notre Dame graduate, Swarbrick also is considered by some to be a front-runner for the Indiana University athletic director post that opened recently as a result of Rick Greenspan’s resignation, IBJ reported this month.

Swarbrick helped bring the 2012 Super Bowl to Indianapolis and is a past president of Indiana Sports Corp., the not-for-profit that brings sporting events to Indianapolis.
