I want to experience a life where I spend $1.5mil for a property, thousands with an architect, and potentially $2mil+ to construct a new place for others to read books and drink coffee… That being said, I will go drink coffee there.
Carmel has already allowed the demolition of so many beautiful old homes in the name of progress. It just makes me sad.
This is so sad!! Only in Carmel would someone tear down a perfectly beautiful home they paid $1.5 million for, to build a new building costing probably an additional $2 million, in its place. That will be some expensive coffee!! There is plenty of new construction in downtown Carmel. Please keep some of the beautiful, historical buildings.

Washington Township & Carmel have each seen many old home gobbled up for absurd amounts of money, then torn down & rebuilt. Some of these teardown-rebuilds have been of historical significance, including the Williams Creek house that the Vonnegut family moved to after going bankrupt.
