Indiana is a GOP state, but think Diego is a bridge too far for many. Bayh gets the W and gives Indiana Democrats a new Golden Boy hope again.

Well, Joe, the pendulum swings as sure as the sun rises. Why can’t the swing happen in 2026? As a former Republican, Beau will get my vote.
No Democrat in this state has gotten north of 47% of the vote in a statewide election since Joe Donnelly in 2012. Heck, Evan Bayh couldn’t manage 43% of the vote in 2016.
I don’t think the party has the ground game, the messaging, or the platform to pick up enough votes statewide. They’re as incompetent as the Marion County Republican Party. I’d love to be proven wrong as the state would be better with two competitive parties, just like how Indianapolis would be better with two actual choices for mayor.
I will give Bayh credit for picking low hanging fruit.
