Ryan Hickey, co-founder of the Indianapolis art and music festival Oranje, will help put an artistic stamp on the Bottleworks District, the $300 million, 12-acre mixed-use development under construction at College and Massachusetts avenues.

Geronimo Hospitality Group, an affiliate of Bottleworks’ developer—Wisconsin-based Hendricks Commercial Properties—has hired Hickey as director of entertainment and programming.

Geronimo said Hickey’s new role includes curating music and “creating unique event experiences” at the company’s hotels, restaurants and other properties around the country—including Bottleworks and the Ironworks Hotel on 86th Street east of Keystone Avenue.

Hickey’s experience includes procuring event-planning contracts with Red Bull, Starbucks and Super Bowl XLVI, which was played in Lucas Oil Stadium in February 2012. In addition, in 2014, Hickey co-founded Pulp Functions, a digital marketing company that helps small businesses with online content and advertising.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan and have him dedicate his creativity and vision to further heighten our guests’ experiences,” said Jeff Whiteman, Geronimo’s chief operating officer.•
