  1. And our worthless “representatives” will do nothing as they are secure in their jobs, paychecks and insurance. Cutoff their pay, benefits and place them on the firing line along with the other government employees. Remember this at the elections next year who laid these people off, it was Trump and the lapdog republicans (Banks and Young) who are killing the careers of these people in the name of politics.

  2. I suspect a lot of people will buy the Republican lie that the firings are the fault of Democrats. The thing is we’ve had huge shutdown (under Trump) and nobody got fired. This administration has been firing people regardless of a shutdown, so any firings are all on the Republicans.

Try your lie on somebody else. Republicans are just out to gut a functioning Federal government.

The Republicans in congress have rolled over and are playing dead while Trump turns into a tyrant.

  3. The Republican Party is projecting when they claim antifa is the domestic terrorist organization we should all be worried about. The Trump administration will leave scars as significant as the Civil War on the Union.

  4. Hey, dims – cry harder! This shutdown is on your Senate leader, Chucky Schumer, and you know it but you’d rather just scream into your pathetic echo chamber. Your party leadership stinks!

    1. Oh, Mike, thanks for the laugh at your expense. The irony is entirely lost on you when you shriek about echo chambers. You and your pals with no life, lurk in the IBJ comments section (of all places) just repeating stuff you saw someone post on “X”. There is zero originality.

As for leadership, I suppose leadership that stinks is better than no leadership at all. Republicans have entirely given up governing, they just let Trump do whatever he wants, not even bothering to fulfill their Constitutional duties. It’s almost amusing to see what little lap dogs they are.

    2. Hey Mike – yes, Democratic leadership is lacking.

Also, Republicans can win this battle in five minutes. Republicans blow up the filibuster and change the rules when it’s convenient. They can reopen the government and tell Dems to stick it when it comes to ACA premiums without giving an inch to Democrats. Why are Republicans just now claiming to be impotent?

Explain why Democrats should even bother to pick up the phone after Republicans went back on their last deal with rescissions, when Republicans won’t put in writing that they won’t do that again.

Republicans can’t have it both ways. Unless there’s another reason that Mike Johnson might be doing everything possible to keep the government shut down as long as possible. Claiming he can’t swear in a duly elected Representative who might sign a certain discharge petition on some files that the public wants to see released. That surely wouldn’t be it, would it Mike D?
