Trump is the person keeping TSA agents from getting paid.

Under a proposal pitched to Trump, Republicans would offer to reopen all of DHS except ICE, and fund the controversial enforcement agency under a separate party-line budget bill.”

Interstingly ICE officers are paid from a different fund than the rest of DHS under the One Big Beautiful Bill they are “shut-down proof”. So in essence the cause of the debate, ICE, are getting paid while the rest of DHS, not the cause of the debate, are not getting paid. Trump is basically thumbing his nose at the unpaid TSA workers by sending in armed ICE officers who are receiving a full pay check to “assist” them. The contrast is telling, TSA is unarmed and without tactical vests while ICE comes in wearing bullet proof vests and fully armed with side arms and in some reports tactical weapons. Yah, makes me feel safe to fly.
Another reason why all this crap was thrown into 1 bill – to try to hide all the ugliness. And our congressional representatives were happy to play along.
Every member of Congress should be thrown out. Can’t wait for the midterms!
