  1. Rep Spartz refuses to serve on any Congressional Committees or Subcommittees, and perform oversight functions, which are a big part of the job of a Congressperson, for which she draws a regular paycheck. The Congresswoman has excluded the 5th district voters she represents from having any voice in ongoing oversight. Now, weeks from the election she postures in a transparent election ploy as if she is the safeguard for the interests of the citizens of the District! Doing all aspects of the job involves participating in the process whether she likes it
or not! She signed up for this work and now she is asking to be rehired. 5th District voters have every reason to be skeptical of this performance.

  2. Regardless of the timing, I am happy to see Spartz take this stance. In the article, it states that she has been trying to secure answers to many of these questions for months. We need answers to these questions. Indianapolis is downstream from this LEAP district. We receive much of our drinking water from White River and Eagle Creek Reservoir. We cannot pollute White River or drain Eagle Creek Reservoir. Electric rates should be frozen and guaranteed so that data centers cannot cause rate increases. Additionally, data centers should not receive any federal, state, or local incentives including property tax abatements. They create very few long-term jobs, and construction jobs are only temporary. Spartz is listening to her voters and acting on their behalf on this issue.
