We have the weakest, most fragile president in US history.
no he left office in January of 2025.
We have a massively bloated government that needs to be cut. We have social programs that are full of pork. Able bodied people should be working, not on welfare. We cannot continue to spend money we don’t have. The Federal government is not a jobs machine, it is not a welfare ATM.
Every Republican president cuts taxes as the first order of business and the response, every single time, is that it’s the fault of people receiving services, not the decreased federal revenue.
If you’re serious about the deficit, shut off Social Security and Medicare NOW. That will fix the issue and get those able-bodied seniors back on the job market. It’d be a lovely way to honor Charlie Kirk, who said retirement shouldn’t exist.
We have a President that is full of pork
Trump is a pansy lmao. He’s a constant simp for Putin, Ping, and Un. He’s a cowering little baby and a sellout for any small amount of money or praise.
Trump and his Project 2025 minions were just waiting for an excuse to fire all these people anyway. It’s too bad that some people will actually believe that permanently crippling the US government is anybody else’s fault other than Trump.
For a guy that wrote a book called “the art of the deal”, he’s the worst deal maker ever. For a guy that likes everything to pink and rosy, it’s going to be hard to swallow 100,000 new unemployment claims in one month. As for fixing the deficit, reasonable taxes on rich people would go a long way to fixing that problem. None of those tax breaks seem to be trickling down to us little guys. they never have and never will.
Just a reminder that Trump swore up and down that Project 2025 wasn’t his plan for this administration and told everyone that no one from that document would be involved.
He didn’t even write the book! It was ghost-written and the author has been very public about the pressure he got to embellish or outright fabricate good “deal” stories about Trump to incorporate into the book.
Will somebody PLEEEEEZE think of all the poor bureaucrats–I mean, “federal employees”—AHEM! “civil servants”?!!?
How on earth will they be able to maintain their $1.5M 4-bedroom homes in northern Virginia horsey country if not from garnishing the wages of those stupid hayseeds in the Midwest?
Every government shutdown is the fault of whichever political party you don’t like.
The solution is beyond easy. If the government shuts down, the 1st casualty is the pay of every person in congress and their staff. Not paused, no true up after a new bill. They simply don’t receive a dime.
They would never be another shutdown or even a threat
Most of them are so wealthy it wouldn’t matter.
Permanently bar them all from holding office again and strip them of their congressional pensions/benefits and then you might see a change.
Joe and I agree about as often as Indy gets a total solar eclipse…but I support every letter of what you’re saying here. Then again…do you mean it, or is this just doomsday snark if something other than the DC establishment, who has calcified their control in the last 40 years, gets elected into office?
The days of “good governance” are over. This was part of Canada’s national motto, and look what a disaster that country is–political dissent can get your bank accounts frozen, IFF you are working-class and have no direct cronies in Ottawa (meaning you’re a threat to the political elite rather than one of their useful idiots). I’ll accept that Canadians are genuinely stupid and brainwashed enough to have elected more of the same with Carney, mainly because the alternative “far right trump crony” Poilievre was increasingly revealing himself to be controlled opposition. Canada is really cooked. But they seem to be clutching their own rotisserie.
Returning to the States, for those who rail each day here against DumbOrangeHitler, is there EVER a line in the sand where you’ll recognize that government is too big, too centralized, and too intrusive? Or does that only take place when those anti-vaxx goofballs are in charge?
Lauren – you actually think Trump wants to make government smaller? That’s hysterical.
Trump is the manifestation of everything we were told that Obama or Biden or Harris would do, as far as consolidation of power at the federal level in the executive branch through a puppet who does the bidding of wealthy donors. It’s pay for play government and … absolute silence.
Better question is, for those who support Trump, what exactly is your line in the sand? I remain amazed it wasn’t January 6th…
