Two Indianapolis-area legal firms that specialize in elder law services have merged.

Carol Applegate and Lisa Dillman have joined their firms to form Applegate and Dillman Elder Law, they announced Tuesday.

The new firm will have five attorneys and 17 employees overall who will offer an array of elder care law and advocacy services.

Practice areas will include life care planning, Medicaid planning, estate planning, veteran’s benefits, guardianship, probate and trust administration, special needs planning and family law.

Applegate, a registered nurse and attorney, founded Applegate Elder Law in Carmel in 2009. The firm has six employees, including two attorneys, who are joining the new firm.

Dillman, who has been practicing law for 24 years, started Dillman Law Group in 2007. The firm has 11 employees, including three attorneys, who will be part of  the merged firm.
