  1. If you want to check the record, you will find that Daniels made a campaign promise to hold a referendum and let the voters decide what to do. But once he got elected, he immediately began to push for inclusion in the Eastern time zone.

  2. If the feds eliminate DST, of which I personally endorse, Indiana would still have to debate the Eastern zone against Central. My relatives out east get dark and light about an hour ahead of us here, even the ones on the west coast of Florida.
Indiana remains at the potential front of Central or tale end of Eastern time. The debates and arguments will return again when DST goes away, but our society may become
More emotionally and mentally stable without the forward-backward jumps.

  3. Historically Eastern Time has crept from mid-Ohio to the Indiana / Illinois border. Indiana should be on central time and pick either DST or Standard Time and leave it alone. Tired of the back and forth and the “need to be on Eastern Time” to conduct business with the east coast. The world has changed and Eastern Time is not as important as it once was when the world revolved around Wall Street and Washington DC

  4. It gets dark in Chicago about 4:30 in December which if we were on CT, it would get dark in Indy around 4pm that time of year. We would certainly survive but not great for school busses or general morale for it to get dark so early.
