With the Indiana Fever’s star guard Caitlin Clark sidelined by another muscle strain and just hours to go before the WNBA All-Star Weekend officially tips off, tickets for the previously sold-out game are becoming increasingly easy to come by.
As of Monday, verified resale tickets via Ticketmaster for upper-bowl seats at Gainbridge Fieldhouse for the Saturday night showcase were sitting around $138. As of early Friday evening, dozens of tickets in the same level were listed in the $70-range. On third-party resale sites like StubHub, upper-bowl tickets are going for as low as $69.
Clark announced on Thursday that she would not play in the weekend’s scheduled activities, including Friday night’s 3-Point Contest and the All-Star Game. The team announced Lexie Hull would replace her for the Friday event, noting Clark had suffered a right groin injury.
The superstar, who received a record number of public votes to be named captain for one of the weekend’s teams, is still expected to have a presence throughout the weekend. She started her Friday public appearances by joining teammates on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” which broadcast from Morris Bicentennial Plaza from 7-9 a.m.
Ticket prices for Fever games have plummeted each time Clark has been injured. Data obtained by USA Today Sports found that, on average, tickets for the first four games she missed this season (also due to a muscle strain), dropped from about $138 to $80.
The get-in price for Friday night’s activities, which include the 3-Point Contest and Skills Challenge, is significantly cheaper—Ticketmaster’s resale offerings for the upper bowl cost about $7, and lower bowl seats are available for the $150-range. There are still face-value tickets available for the event, which starts at 8 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, ranging from $26 in the upper bowl to around $250 to sit in the lower bowl.
Meanwhile, available tickets for Fever Fest, the comedy and music event scheduled for Saturday night at White River State Park, are dwindling. Many of Everwise Amphitheater’s seats are sold out, with space still available in the lawn and a smattering of tickets available in the lower-most sections, closest to the stage. Front-row resale tickets are available for $214, with at least a dozen face-value tickets available in the $150- to $180-range. Lawn seats start at $47.50.
That event, organized as part of Pacers Sports & Entertainment’s partnership with comedian Kevin Hart’s production company, will feature performances by comedians Cedric the Entertainer and Leslie Jones, as well as music performances by The Kid Laroi and rapper Bia.
