    1. The Ritz-Carlton in Chicago first opened in 1975 – so I guess we are 50 years behind?

It was supposed to open in 1981 in Cincinnati but the deal fell through when P&G would not commit to it being their executive hotel

    2. The Indianapolis metro area is the least behind portion of the state. Witness how we are late to the party on a downtown casino, so late we should learn from elsewhere that it’s a terrible idea.

Go spend some time on most county seats around Indiana. JJ isn’t wrong.

    3. In what world do the Simons, with City + IEDC money, represent “outside investment”, Chuck? They’re hometowners.

  1. I think it would be cool to convert Georgia Street to a mini-Nashville-style Broadway with ease of entry and exit on different music venues….e.g. country, rock, jazz, etc.

    1. Love that idea and I think if you just look at the moves The Simons are making with buying other properties close by,
it definitely looks as if their going for that type of concept we see in Nashville. We do have Clayton’s Country Bar on S. Meridian that’s actually amazing with its food and music scene.

  2. What’s the status of the proposed Tempo Hotel at the corner of Maryland and Pennsylvania Streets? I hate that vacant parking lot on such high profile corner.
