  1. Media like IBJ has to share some of the blame for reinforcing the mass sick out rumor. This is the third story that has reported it and unless you read the entire story it would be real easy to assume Southwest was in the middle of a mass sick out.

At the same reporting the lack of definitive information leaves it open for anybody that wants to believe they are just not telling you the real story.

    1. It’s right in the story.

“Southwest struggled all summer with delays and cancellations. A senior executive admitted to employees Sunday that the airline is still understaffed and might need to reduce flights in November and December.”

They had computer issues in June and it took them days to recover from them. They schedule their planes differently from every other airlines. If their planes end up in the wrong place at the end of a day (stuck in Florida as they try to make money off fall break travelers), it can mess up multiple flights… which is what happened to them.

    2. Joe, you believe that you believe in the youth fairy. Let’s hope other major corporation employees take note and will also combat the ‘woke’ and might i say weak senor management that willfully comply with draconian measures such as these vaccine mandates.

    3. Yes, Jeffrey. Why wouldn’t I believe in unsubstantiated rumors that reinforce what I want to hear … as opposed to my personal experiences from flying Southwest and twice having flights cancelled In the last three years due to the flaws in their point-to-point scheduling system?

The first time, a flight cancelled due to weather in Minnesota 24 hours earlier. Because planes and crews were now out of place, my flight was cancelled.

The second time was their computer issue this summer. I spent over an hour on the phone dealing with getting the flights fixed, and we had to pay for an extra night of hotels to ensure we were at our event on time.

The concept of a vaccine mandate didn’t even exist then, because, honestly, what kind of person would rather get a virus potentially made in a Chinese lab instead of an American-made vaccine?

Just as silly as still flying Southwest. But, please, go on with your theories here.

    1. You didn’t see The Youth Fairy in the movie theaters? It was a career highlight for Abe Vigoda and Wilford Brimley.
