  1. As Ronald Reagen said about his departure from the Democratic Party: “I did not leave the Democrats, they left me.” Now the same can be said for the “Trumplican Party”. It is leaving me, I am not leaving it.

  2. I’m skeptical he’s actually leaving over redistricting? Politics is a blood sport. The Democrats rigged redistricting based on the 2020 Census by using questionable statistical methods to estimate the homeless and illegal populations in blue states. California has now done mid-decade redistricting to further favor Democrats, while NY, MD, and Virginia are in the process now. Yet, Clere’s concern is that Indiana might help Trump fight back and thereby threaten Andre’s lifetime seat in the 7th?! More likely, Clere is looking for a full-time job as mayor of New Albany, and he knows he can’t win a mayoral race, even in Indiana, as a Republican.

    1. lol. It’s so hilarious how the entire maga worldview is just grievances you’ve made up in your own head

    2. It’s an alternate reality that leaves out anything uncomfortable, like facts.

“The Democrats rigged redistricting based on the 2020 Census by using questionable statistical methods to estimate the homeless and illegal populations in blue states. ”

The 2020 Census was conducted by Donald Trump.

“California has now done mid-decade redistricting to further favor Democrats”

… in response to Texas first redistricting, which Texans likely now regret.

“Indiana might help Trump fight back and thereby threaten Andre’s lifetime seat in the 7th”

Indiana Republicans have twice drawn the 7th to keep Andre Carson around and cracked the rest of the Indianapolis area to make it safe for Republicans.

Little wonder Trump doesn’t want the 2026 midterms to take place. For someone who claims to be so popular, he’s sure afraid of letting people show how much they love him one last time. Maybe we should have paid attention when he said people wouldn’t have to vote again if they voted for him in 2024.

  3. He is farther left than a lot of the Dems at the statehouse. Article fails to mention how 99% of the Republican caucus has never liked this guy since he got elected. He makes a fool of himself, raising his voice behind closed doors, and annoys the other members. You want to see any legislation or amendment die, just put his name it and watch the quick death. He is only doing this now because he wants to be Mayor. I am more to the right will tell you that Democrat Jeff Gahan is a much better Mayor of New Albany than Ed Clere ever could be.

  4. Good riddance to Clare, after 18 years he needed to go anyway, as do several of the other antique legislators. If Indiana is to change, it takes a new bunch every few years. On Groundhog Day as the movie represents, Indiana’s repetitive stance by the same old bunch of 20th century thinkers, repeats itself every year.

  5. How can anyone listen to any of TRUMP’s speeches and not think if they had given that speech their family would research assisted living facilities with a memory care unit from them .

  6. I applaud Ed Clere. I hope more Republicans will realize they are here to represent the interests of the voters, not the other way around. The mid-terms will prove interesting….

  7. Michael, Joe, Rick, Do any of you follow the news, other than CNN or MSNOW? Do you realize Virginia just passed legislation to redistrict, mid-decade, that will almost certainly eliminate 4 of the 5 GOP-leaning congressional seats in what is now a 6-5, light blue state? Of course you know this. But you come on here and post your misinformation in an attempt to gaslight independents.
