The strategic consulting agreement with the Fort Wayne-based hospital system comes as the Hamilton County-owned Riverview is recovering from consecutive years of operating losses.
The relationship comes following at least two consecutive years of operating losses for Riverview.
It’s turnaround time at Riverview Health, the small, 114-year-old hospital system owned by Hamilton County, which is trying to deal with competition from larger health care systems.
Riverview Health plans to build one of its new freestanding combined ER/urgent care facilities on Hazel Dell Road, south of 146th Street.
The fast-growing health system, owned by Hamilton County, plans to begin construction this year and open the centers in Carmel, Fishers and Indianapolis in 2019.
The county-owned hospital system has more than $100 million in ongoing projects, making it one of the biggest eras of growth in the history of Riverview, which opened its Noblesville hospital in 1951.
