Funds available for legal research

October 9, 2010

The Indiana Humanities Council and the Indiana Supreme Court are collaborating on a new grant project to support research, documentation and educational projects related to Indiana’s legal history.

Eligible projects may include research related to court documents and cases, written and oral histories of Indiana’s courthouses, legal professionals and family histories of those involved with the state’s legal system.

Projects can request up to $2,000 in grant support. The application deadline is Nov. 1.

Educational print materials will be given special consideration. Those might include walking-tour brochures, guides to courthouses and curriculum units designed for K-12 classes.

Eligibility requirements, proposal criteria, application instructions and forms are available at the Indiana Humanities Council’s Web site: www.indianahumanities.org/res_grants.aspx.

Questions can be directed to the Humanities Council at 638-1500, or the Supreme Court at 233-8682.•
