Pence is the third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House and spent much of the fall campaign season outside the district supporting other GOP candidates across Indiana and the country. His victory in Tuesday's election gives him a sixth term in Congress.
Pence easily defeated Democrat Barry Welsh, a United Methodist minister from Connersville who has lost three straight challenges to Pence.
