Pac-Van Inc. announced on Wednesday that it has purchased a building on the far-east side of Indianapolis and will move its headquarters from South Harding Street on the south side.
The company, which leases mobile offices and storage units, will spend $1.1 million to move to 9155 Harrison Park Court, near North Post Road. It also will build a modular branch office and 4,000-square-foot maintenance facility at 1850 Kentucky Ave., city officials said.
Pac-Van plans to move to its new corporate office by April 1 and its branch location by May 1.
The company was assisted by Develop Indy but did not receive economic development incentives. No new jobs are planned because of the move.
The company has 41 employees and is owned by Pasadena, Calif.-based General Finance Corp., which bought Pac-Van in 2008 from Mobile Office Acquisition Corp., also based in California, for $159 million.
Mobile Office acquired Pac-Van from brothers Brent, Scott and Matthew Claymon, along with their father, William Claymon, who founded the company in 1993.
Pac-Van has 26 branches in 17 states.
