The Indiana Department of Transportation is seeking public input as part of its effort to update the state’s rail transportation plan.

In Indianapolis, INDOT has scheduled an open house for 4-8 p.m. June 2 at the Indianapolis Traffic Management Center, 8620 E. 21st St.

Rail plans are required for states applying for funding under the Passenger Rail Investment and Improvement Act. The 2009 plan is available at INDOT’s website.

INDOT has already been surveying railroads, businesses and other groups that depend on freight and passenger rail. The agency is also accepting public comments at http://indot.IN.gov/3499.htm.
