IBM Corp. announced Monday morning that it has added 175 jobs at its call-center operations in Daleville east of Anderson.
The new employees are housed in IBM’s Heartland Business Center, where the New York-based company already had roughly 500 workers. IBM opened its call center in Daleville in 2008, at a former outlet mall along Interstate 69.
The new workers have already been trained and began work Monday, IBM said.
The Delaware County Redevelopment Commission approved the use of tax-increment financing funds as an incentive to bring the new jobs and investment to Daleville.
The county has offered loans toward expansion that the Muncie-Delaware County Economic Alliance said eventually could lead to IBM having 1,000 workers in the business park.
Workers at the IBM center take calls on behalf of a variety of clients.
