Bruce Hetrick’s thoughts [May 14] on Richard Lugar really touched me. I lived in Bloomington for over 30 years, raised my family there, graduated from Indiana University Bloomington law school while my kids were in school, and worked for the attorney general, among others. I am also a lifelong Democrat. And I respect Lugar above almost any politician I can think of. He is a statesman, not a politician. What a loss for the state as well as the nation. America needs a Congress filled with Dick Lugars.
