Two workers hurt in blast at IPL power plant

Indianapolis Power & Light Co. says two workers were hurt in an explosion at an Indianapolis power plant early Tuesday.

Company spokeswoman Crystal Livers-Powers says the pair were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. WTHR-TV Channel 13 reported that the explosion happened about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of coal pulverizers at IPL's generating plant on the city's south side.

Livers-Powers says no customers lost service from the explosion and that its cause was under investigation.
