Brainard good for Carmel

Who are you [Sept. 17 Styring column] to pretend to know what Carmel residents want? I look around and see what a beautiful place Carmel has become in the 20 years I’ve lived here and I marvel that our taxes are actually as low as they are. Even if taxes would need to go up somewhat, they’d have to go up a huge amount for the cost of living here to outweigh the benefits. This has become a world-class community and I’m so proud that we have had a mayor that will make the case for excellence and withstand the criticism that goes with the territory. Let’s go ahead and demand greater transparency in our budgeting process, but let’s not believe for one minute that this mayor doesn’t reflect the will and support of the people who live here.
