Bill would help education

Keywords Opinion

I write in support of Senate Bill 207, which reinstates in-state tuition rates to undocumented students who were enrolled in a state college or university in 2011.

With this legislation before the Legislature, our state has an opportunity to lead on an issue that will help strengthen our work force, close the skills gap and give academically achieving students the opportunity to obtain a quality post-secondary education.

The bill gives those students the opportunity to finish their college education. These students have graduated from our state high schools, live and work in our communities, and strive to excel personally and professionally.
