A Michigan-based engineering and architecture firm is expanding to Indianapolis and has signed a lease to occupy space on Massachusetts Avenue.
GMB Architecture + Engineering Inc. of Holland, Mich., plans to set up shop at 345 Mass Ave., just east of the 3 Mass condominiums, in January after completing a renovation of the space.
PearsonThe firm is operating at a temporary location on Shadeland Station Way, off Shadeland Avenue near East 75th Street, until work is finished.
John Pearson, an architect with more than 20 years of experience, will lead GMB’s local office.
Its entry in the Indianapolis market is the firm’s first foray outside Michigan.
“We believe that Indiana is on the cusp of strong corporate expansion and growth in facilities for higher education, K-12 education and health care, and those fields are our core strengths,” Pearson said in a prepared statement.
