If this piece of property is ever developed [Developer pitches project for 86th and Meridian, Sept. 7], I really hope the city ensures that all of the trees aren’t all cut down like when the northeast corner was developed.
Developing around most of the trees adds so much to a development instead of cutting them all down and replacing them with stick trees. I’ve never understood why more developers don’t understand the value that mature trees can bring to their property.
Yes, I understand that it’s easier to cut them all down to have a blank canvas, but that’s very shortsighted thinking.
