Let’s see where Indy Eleven is after five years with respect to ticket sales, advertising support, and community interest [Attendance dip isn’t deterring Indy Eleven from seeking new stadium]. Then a “taxpayer funded” facility might be reconsidered.
For those who point to the Hoosier Dome and Lucas Oil Stadium as examples of why a soccer stadium should be taxpayer funded, I respectfully submit that I think those were a mistake as well.
Let’s fix roads and other infrastructure and fund pre-K school before we build another single purpose facility that serves only a small segment of the state population.
