Tex-Mex restaurant Corner Cantina is set to open Thursday in the historic Indiana Avenue building last occupied by New Orleans on the Avenue.
Roger Duran, who comes from Louie’s Wine Dive on Massachusetts Avenue, is the operator and chef.
Corner Cantina’s menu features appetizers priced below $10 and entrees below $20, including empanadas stuffed in-house with braised beef, roasted chicken, roasted vegetables or pork.
New Orleans on the Avenue operated in the building at 543 Indiana Ave. for four years before closing in 2015. It was home to Zing before that.
The 10,314-square-foot building was built in 1885 and completely renovated in 2008.
