This is in response to Sheila Suess Kennedy’s recent “article” in your April 3 Opinions section [“Another reason single-payer makes sense”]. To state the GOP health care bill that wasn’t put to a vote proves the need for single payer as a solution to our entrepreneurial activity is grossly short sighted.

There are many inefficiencies associated with government control. Look at our Social Security system, Medicare,Medicaid, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (formerly known as food stamps).

People already are frustrated with taxes. It’s all about efficiency and I do not know of any entrepreneur that would argue with that. Transparency is [the] new buzz word in the hospital market. They are being more transparent with cost. Individual responsibility also comes in the formula. Costs associated with obesity and life style are 70 percent of the result of high-cost care.

I am happy for Canada gaining Toyota as a manufacturing partner because of health care. I do not want Canada’s tax system nor the waiting for care. Before we look at a single-payer rescue, know what you’re asking for.
