Singer Michael Feinstein signs Carmel contract

The incoming head of Carmel’s new $118 million performing arts center says singer Michael Feinstein has agreed to become
the center’s artistic director.

Steven Libman is the Carmel Performing Arts Center’s incoming executive director.
He said today that Feinstein has signed a contract to become artistic director. Libman says contract details will be released
Sept. 25.

Messages seeking comment were left with Feinstein spokesman Dan Fortune.

Feinstein gained
fame in 1988 with a one-man Broadway show "Isn’t It Romantic: Michael Feinstein in Concert."

He already
has announced plans to move the headquarters of his Feinstein Foundation for the Education and Preservation of The Great American
