LETTER: Senator right on health care

On behalf of the American Lung Association in Indiana, I thank Sen. Joe Donnelly for standing up and protecting health care for Hoosiers living with lung disease [Donnelly: Our top priority must be to do no harm, Aug. 14]. The Senate’s health care bill would have harmed the millions of Americans who need health care as part of their daily battle against lung diseases, including asthma, COPD and lung cancer, and Sen. Donnelly was right to vote against it.

We are hopeful that now the Senate can work together in a bipartisan way to improve our nation’s health care system and ensure that all Americans have quality and affordable health care.
