I am writing to thank Nate Feltman for his thoughtful, principled opinion piece in IBJ [Are you ready for the MDR party?, Sept. 14]. This nation needs exactly what you are calling for. I am a lifelong Democrat, and doubtless we might disagree on the details, but the principles are universal, and like-minded people who are reasonable can overcome their differences for the sake of America. After all, that is what they did for many years. Every comment you made about big money, radicalism and tribalism is something I have felt many, many times.
Thank you very much for this extremely appropriate assessment of our country’s situation.
