Congrats to Deborah Daniels on a well-written column on a topic of paramount importance [Words matter, especially when you’re president, Nov. 16]. Civility is seen as a vice instead of a virtue and creating an environment of xenophobia and nationalism to gain short term policy wins is unwisely lauded. I hope the folks who are at risk of being on the wrong side of history read your column with open minds.
