Letter: Ferebee will be missed

Keywords Opinion

While we wish only the best for him in Washington, D.C., Lewis Ferebee’s decision to leave Indianapolis Public Schools will leave a significant leadership void in our city’s education community. Superintendent Ferebee will be remembered for his commitment to innovation, improvement, and taking the necessary steps to ensure IPS is viable and effective for all young people. What I admire most about Dr. Ferebee is his relentless focus on the students entrusted to his care, even in the face of tremendous adversity. This is the character of a true leader, and Dr. Ferebee repeatedly demonstrated that he only cared about the mission of doing whatever necessary to improve the lives of children in our community.
