The Indiana State Fair announced Wednesday five concerts as part of the Hoosier Lottery Free Stage series, including appearances by 10-time Grammy Award winner Chaka Khan and classic rock band Kansas.

The Kansas show on July 29 coincides with opening day at the fair. The annual celebration of agriculture and agribusiness will run through Aug. 21, while taking breaks on Mondays and Tuesdays. Additional Free Stage concerts will be announced.

The Free Stage shows:

July 29: Kansas, a rock band that released signature songs “Dust in the Wind,” Carry On Wayward Son” and “Point of Know Return” in the mid-1970s.

Aug. 3: Chaka Khan, who’s expected to perform enduring hits “Tell Me Something Good,” “I Feel For You,” “Through the Fire” and “I’m Every Woman.”

Aug. 14: Zach Williams, a Grammy-winning contemporary Christian artist.

Aug. 17: “Happy Together Tour,” a 1960s revue featuring the Turtles, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, the Association, the Classics IV, the Vogues and the Cowsills.

Aug 19: Carly Pearce, a country singer known for 2017 debut single “Every Little Thing” and a 2019 duet with Lee Brice, “I Hope You’re Happy Now.“ Pearce was born in Marion, Indiana, and she grew up in Kentucky.

Admission to the Free Stage near the northwest corner of the fairgrounds, 1202 E. 38th St., is included with tickets purchased for the fair. Advance tickets are available for $10. Fair admission is free to attendees 5 and younger. For more information, visit indianastatefair.com.

In coming weeks, a limited number of “premium section” tickets will be sold for Free Stage concerts.
