  1. According to Michael Hicks of Ball State, and to ag organizations, similar tariffs on US ag products during the President’s first administration caused a farm recession in Indiana.

    The manufacturing tariffs on imported auto parts may very well tip Indiana manufacturers into a recession as well, and it most likely will negatively impact our four big vehicle assembly plants…GM, Toyota, Honda, and Subaru aren’t going to eat the increased parts costs, and vehicle price increases will lead to reductions in sales and slowdowns in manufacturing.
