Letter: Common sense for public safety

Thanks for a common sense article regarding the downtown security situation [Nate Feltman: Don’t blame downtown businesses for boarding up, Nov. 20]. Mayor Hogsett has not provided much good leadership on this matter. There needs to be a complete understanding by all citizens that the moment you take the step from peaceful protesting to damaging property or assaulting others that you are now a criminal and will be arrested, regardless of what your cause may be. We need more of [this] line of thinking regarding public safety
