Soliday really did himself no favors.
“This stuff is generating astronomical amounts of money for localities,” data center developer Tom Dakich said. “We do a bad job of bringing the transparency of those numbers, and the numbers are staggering.”
Such an easy problem to solve, especially when economists look at data centers and discern there’s no appreciable benefit to having them when it comes to local job creation.

Dakich is correct. The news articles always mention the about of tax abatement that new economic development avoids but fails to mention the taxes the development will pay. Unfortunately, the jobs created aren’t significant.
