Why is he not being disbarred? This wasn’t a “technical” violation of the law…it was part of a conspiracy to circumvent campaign finance laws.
John Keeler was an honorable legislator serving his constituents and the State of Indiana with distinction for several years. How he became wrapped up in this goofy scheme to send casino money as a political contribution is a mystery to everyone who knew him. I am certain he is remorseful and very much regrets whatever pressures caused him to participate in this transaction. I will gladly support his efforts to be reinstated to practice law, if asked.
