Indiana reports 1 new COVID-19 death, 762 cases

The Indiana State Department of Health on Monday reported 762 new COVIV-19 cases, the lowest daily count since March 30.

The seven-day moving average of positive cases in Indiana was 1,018 on Sunday, up from 775 two weeks ago.

The state reported just one new death from COVID-19 on Monday, one day after reporting zero new deaths for the first time since mid-March 2020, during the opening week of the pandemic.

The health department reported the testing of 3,372 new individuals.

Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased from 693 on Saturday to 704 on Sunday. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.

The state said more than 1.24 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday at 5 a.m. More than 1.77 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
