Indiana reports lowest number of COVID-19 cases since Sept. 8

The Indiana State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 624 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest number of new cases in the department’s daily report since Sept. 8.

The department said 7,448 more unique individuals were tested, the smallest number since Sept. 10. The cumulative positivity rate for unique individuals remained at 8.5%.

The state also reported 12 new deaths from COVID-19, raising the cumulative total to 3,247. The department has reported 75 new deaths over the past week, compared with 67 the previous week.

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

*New cases, deaths and tests are previously unreported cases, deaths and tests submitted to the Indiana State Health Department in the 24 hours through 11:59 p.m. the previous day. The cases and testing categories typically contain numerous duplicates—as many as 20% or more—that are later eliminated from the cumulative totals.
