Indiana reports second-highest daily increase in COVID-19 cases

Following are the latest COVID-19 numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. The department updates its data daily based on information received through 11:59 p.m. the previous day.

The state reported an increase in the cumulative number of cases of 841. That’s the second-highest daily increase since the beginning of the pandemic. The biggest increase was 949 on April 27—a number that included an outbreak of more than 400 cases in Cass County. Indiana has seen new cases rise for five straight days and has reported more than 700 new cases for four straight days.

Testing in Indiana has exceeded 9,000 tests daily for three straight days and has risen for five straight days.
