Letters: $20M subsidy in Carmel part of larger problem

Daniel Bradley’s thorough recap of Carmel’s redevelopment overreach [Residents of longtime Carmel neighborhood oppose $133M project, June 3] demonstrates once more how arrogant the city administration has become.

A $1.5 billion debt never approved by taxpayers now will include a $20 million subsidy for the invasion of two neighborhoods. And the chief spokesman for the project isn’t a developer but the very city hall functionary who mismanaged and covered up a 46% cost overrun on Hotel Carmichael costs.

Some record of accomplishment.
